At this time of year it is always worth reflecting on the year past and those who have given outstsnding service in specific areas.
James "Bitty"Adams - for his addition to the English dictionary with the word "Bittitude" and his autobiography "Bitty and beyond - the difficult years"
Jonathon "Malcolm" Malka - for his unselfish work towards saving the doughnut industry in the UK.

Education
Every now and then the challenge of what others are perceptually doing and how much of it raises its infamous head. Our belief, trust, commitment and desire are all faced with an emmotional onslaught that challenges what we are doing. These are often the greatest challengesathletes face in their steps on the ladder to the ultimate top. How far up we travel the ladder and how often we fall back down the rungs depends on simply our belief, trust, commitment and desire to our own ladder. Others...

Hidden talents
Parents are not just chauffeurs and money printers. In this series we highlight the hidden talents of some of those who keep the engine room ticking over. The first in the series is Professor Nick"Gurdy Gurdy" Reed here seen lecturing in Danish on the subject of bacon sandwiches. The thrust of the seminar was that Danishhhhhh bacon does not make better tasting sandwiches than good old English bacon. The results are founded on over 20 years intensive research by Dr Nick. Quotes
The festive season is upon us and tis the season to be jolly. The queues at the supermarkets reach ludicrous proportions even though they are open 24hrs a day. Shopping trolleys are piled full as though the world will likely end in the next few days. The shopping for gifts becomes priority number one as December 25th is a day like no other in the year. As an athlete probably the greates gift we seek is summed up simply below...........
Dont ever let anything stand in the way of your dreams.

Training
Its been a week soaking up the weather in the Canaries the weather being a good dose of wind and some smatterings of sun. Once again Lanzarote has done us well and offered up a venue to put in a good block of training this side of christmas. With such a wide range of athletes on camp then training loads as usual were vary variable and individually tapered. Plenty of hours in the saddle and pool were the corner stone of the block with a couple of other themes thrown in to work on for improved ... Continue reading ...

Today was one of those crisp frosty mornings when the forest is in all its glory and the fire trail presents itself as a giant stairway reaching into the distance. The gladatorial colosseum stands eerily in the valley what more could you wish for (fresh legs and some extra thick gloves ?) With the time of year even the huskie sleighs were out on the firetrail this morning for their daily workout. Its difficult not to be motivated for forest on a morning like that. A few days to go and I can st... Continue reading ...

Keep it simple keep it sweet..... 1. Eat well 2. Rest 3. Stretch 4. Train (swim, bike, run, condition) 5. Time management
Anything else we wish to add are accessories that could hopefully have a benefit. But they dont come in at a cost of the Basic 5. Everyones contribution of the basic 5 and accessories is individual depeandant on many factors. These are your weapons your allies without them you leave yourself open to attack and defenceless.

What great news for Triathlon with the funding levels for the next four years being confirmed. In this current financial climate to see a slight increase (looks like approximately 5-6%) in support linked to the fact that this time around we are preparing for an Olympics in our own back yard as opposed to half way around the World is all positive. Click here to read more about how other sports compared. Im sure it will be an exciting four year cycle to 2012. Continue reading ...

Face value learning skimming the surface of a session and its facts and figures is not a World Class approach to training. Often the facts and figures are the least you can learn from a session. As a coach the most gain from sessions often comes from looking behind the facts and figures that are presented from the session. Looking behind the scenes so to speak and retrieving valuable information to work with is where a depth in coaching comes from. These valuable nuggets of information can com... Continue reading ...
